Junior .22 Benchrest
The following rules apply to the monthly club Junior .22 benchrest rifle matches:
GUN: Any rimfire rifle
SIGHTS: Any iron sights or any scope
DISTANCE: 50 yards
TARGET: ASC ‘Club’ target
STANCE: All shooting must be done from rests or sandbags.
COURSE OF FIRE: 5 Targets, 5 shots in each target. Targets are usually posted 2 or 3 at a time and shot within a 20-minute relay. Unlimited sighters on pre-marked sighter club target
SCORING: Point scoring.
High score – high X
250-25X maximum.22 Barnyard/CMP Benchrest
The purpose of Aurora Sportsmen’s Club Barnyard Benchrest is to promote the shooting sport in a competition that will get new shooters involved in the sport in a fun environment at a reasonable cost.
GUN for Barnyard Class:
.22 Rimfire, any repeating action rifle is allowed.
Original stock, barrel, and trigger are to be used.
Glass bedding, trigger job and recrowning of barrel is allowed.
No barrel tuners are permitted.
Rifles must weigh 7.5 lbs or less with scope and optional bipod.
Scope must be 9x or less (variable scope permitted if set at 9x or less)
GUN for CMP Class:
Any .22 rimfire rifle purchased through the CMP (or equivalent civilian rifle)
“Barnyard Class” rules apply except:
No weight restriction.
Action may be a single shot
Unlimited scope
DISTANCE: 50 yards
TARGET: One Barnyard target with 20 record bulls and 3 sighter bulls
STANCE: Benchrest, any sand bag style rests may be used. A front bipod may be used, but will be considered as part of the total weight of the rifle.
COURSE OF FIRE: One shot per record bullseye, unlimited sighters
SCORING: Point scoring, 200 maximum
